What a View: United Kingdom

During a recent trip to WDW, I found myself alone in the World Showcase, and I decided to circle the Lagoon and spend at least 10 minutes in each country, looking for one thing that makes me super happy.

So I did.

I found something in each country that filled me with delight, and I snapped a photo. And I’ve been sharing them with you, one each week. This is week two, which means we’ve moved on to the United Kingdom.

Signs of Dr. Who (Mouse on the Mind)

It’s a little blurry, but you’re just going to have to deal with it. Because this pop art-style call box poster hanging in the Toy Soldier Shop in Epcot’s UK Pavilion reminds me of Doctor Who’s Tardis, and as such, it doesn’t matter if the photo is blurry because anything related to Doctor Who automatically wins the day.

I’m going to hipster the shit out of this right now: this art made me smile long before the Doctor and his merch flooded the store. Back when this was the only nod to Whovians in the Pavilion, it made me happy. Today? It still brings a huge smile to my face.

Honorable Mention: This chalk drawing, which I saw on the ground in September 2013. It’s not always there, so it doesn’t qualify for this series … but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t make me super happy to see it.
