Food and Wine has started! Duffy has taken his final bow in EPCOT, and Rafiki is now in Adventureland.
The big news this week, of course, is the price hikes. Oh, the price hikes. Parking–both self- and valet-parking–increased a few bucks. Tables in Wonderland is like, whoa, way more expensive. And Annual Passes?
Well, everyone is bellyaching about the cost … but the Gold-level DVC (and Florida resident) AP only increased $64 for a new pass and $57 for a renewal. Not terrible. That’s an extra $0.17/day! For that hike, you get the free Photopass downloads as well as blackouts (which includes dates around Christmas, NYE and Spring Break–times when I usually don’t go to the Parks anyway).
If you’re not a Florida resident or a DVC member, your price hike for a Platinum AP is a little more hike-y–It’s $115 more for a new pass and $96 more for a renewal ($0.32 a day … still not terribly outrageous, but a bit high, to be sure). But there are no blackout dates. So there’s that.
As my dear friend Hannah says, Disney is a private company and they can do whatever they want (within the confines of the law) to increase revenue. I, for one, don’t think this will change my park-attendance habits at all. Will it change yours?
What are you up to? And what do you think about the price hike? Tell me about it!

On Disney Hipster Blog, Andrew talks about his first-day-at-Disney traditions. (And I couldn’t agree more about the RapidFill noise in The Mara.)
Mindy, who is Inspired by Dis, shares some handmade Mickey ears that are quite impressive!
Jess snapped some lovely photos of our feathered friends at DAK for Sparkly Ever After.
Becky, who wants to add Disney In Your Day, crossed one off her bucket list with an awesome Disney photo shoot.
