Open House New York Weekend was this past weekend, so Dan and I spent pretty much every second of Saturday and Sunday exploring everything (or at least a fair portion of) what the city has to offer. So much fun!
At right, you can see a painting Dan captured at the New York Department of Sanitation Manhattan 11 Garage Mongo Museum. What’s the Mongo Museum? It’s a collection of beautiful and interesting pieces of ephemera found in New York City trash. We spent about 90 minutes drinking in its amazingness, and, yes, someone threw away this lovely, original Nightmare Before Christmas canvas. But luckily, it was found and incorporated into this absolutely incredible place.
What did you get up to this weekend? Tell me about it!
One Little Spark of Inspiration
The funny lads behind Disney Hipster Blog, share some fun paintings from Zuri’s Sweets Shop in Animal Kingdom.
Shane saw a live orchestra play Pixar’s greatest hits and told us all about it on Parkeology. (Seriously, though, the performance is coming to New Jersey in June 2016, and if anyone else is interested in meeting up before or after for drinks, lemme know.)
On Main Street Gazette, Ryan outlines Morocco Pavilion’s awe-inspiring beginnings.
Emma, who lives life with A Pinch of Pixie Dust, snapped a series of selfies during Mickey’s Not So Scary this year.
