Weekly Round Up: May 1

Last week was pretty crappy  here at Mouse on the Mind. No, seriously–we both wrote posts about poop.  Tracy introduced a new blog series, Mouse Droppings, and Melissa Sue wrote about an unfortunate experience with bird droppings in Animal Kingdom. And no, we didn’t plan a theme week. We’re just that awesome. Or disgusting. You be the judge.

This week will be a little less gross. Tomorrow, Melissa Sue continues her Wayfinding Wednesday series with a look at some signage in the Magic Kingdom. On Thursday, she’ll help you save money on dessert in Epcot. And, on Friday, Tracy explores the ways time has changed her Disney memories for better and for worse.

Before we get to the roundup, we’d like to give a shoutout to a new Disney Tumblr: Disney Parks Gifs. Come for the expertly-created animations, stay for the lolz.

What do you have going on this week?

Us … Elsewhere
Tracy has been super busy preparing for her next trip; she leaves for Northern California tomorrow. (The ‘northern’ part explains why she’s not going to Disneyland. Sorry. Maybe next time!) And as she planned, she thought about her unique planning routine over on The Suitcase Scholar.

Tracy also made her Disney Food Blog debut this week, writing about the least-ordered dishes at two WDW restaurants.

Our Favorites This Week
Ok, so we’re a little late with this post, but how often do we get to include The New York Times in our Weekly Roundup? Check out this article about the Disney Institute‘s attempts to make every business a little more magical.

John from The Disney Blog (where Melissa Sue moonlights occasionally) was lucky enough to meet Samantha Brown in Disney World this past weekend, and he filmed their interaction.

The Disney Hipsters are in Disneyland as you read this very post. They couldn’t fit us all in their suitcases, so they put together this adorbs video as a bon voyage. See ya real soon, boys!

Old Key West is the topic of our next post, a field guide put together by George of Everything WDW. Melissa Sue is planning to stay there in September …

We’re all about Disney tours, so we were glad to read Melissa’s overview of the Wild Africa Trek on Makin’ Memories this week.

Who doesn’t love shopping? This week, Gaylin posted about her Disney Parks shopping bag collection on Disleelandia. Such cool souvenirs!

Sarah from Eating WDW cooked up some homemade kefta with spices she bought at the Spice and Tea Exchange–Melissa Sue’s favorite tea company. Visit them in Downtown Disney’s Marketplace.
