Weekly Round Up: June 12

Cover StoryHappy International Studios Awareness Week! We’ll be celebrating along with Studios Central and the rest of the Disney blogging community, bringing you some excellent Hollywood Studios content this week.

If you have a great Hollywood Studios memory or idea you’d like to share, send it along to melissa@mouseonthemind.com.

Tracy and Melissa Sue started the week with a very un-Hollywood trip to Knoebels Amusement Resort in Pennsylvania along with a couple of friends (including frequent MotM commenter Becky Ginther). We had an absolutely amazing time, and we can’t wait to tell you all about it!

What is your favorite non-Disney Park?

Us … Elsewhere
Tracy is about to embark on her next adventure, but you can still read all about her trip to California. This week, she’s writing about Yosemite and the Napa Valley Wine Train.

WDWNT: The Magazine Issue 15 is out, and Melissa Sue is a proud mamma again! Hope you’ll all check it out.

Our Favorites This Week
It wasn’t easy being a woman in the 1930s. According to Letters of Note, it was even harder if you were a woman who wanted to work on Disney’s animated films.

Are you a Chaos Muppet or an Order Muppet? Slate does psychology, Disney-style.

Remember when the Babysitters Club went to Disney World?? Estelle from This Happy Place Blog does. And it was awesome.

Throughout the week, Pixar Story Artist Emma Coats tweeted some of the secrets behind Pixar’s excellent storytelling, and then The Pixar Place collected all of her tweets in one blog post. Thanks, guys!

The Hipsters gave us a sneak peek at their fridge … and all of the Disney memories stuck to it! Love this idea.

Our new favorite Professor, Rebecca Hains, writes about Disney Princesses as a lifestyle brand. While we agree with her point, we also sort of love the Aurora bedroom …

AJ reviewed Boatwrights on Disney Food Blog this week … and she liked it as much as Melissa Sue and Robert did! Hear that? Boatwrights at Port Orleans Riverside gets at least six thumbs up!

If you’re familiar with Disney history (and even if you’re not), you’ll love FoxxFur’s super nerdy homemade MAPO stickers on Passport to Dreams.

One of Melissa Sue’s fondest memories was surprising her then-new husband with a tiny replica of their wedding cake at Narcoossee’s during their Disneymoon. Carrie Hayward of Disney Travel Babble has the very thorough scoop on how to order these specialty cakes.

We loved this post about things you may not think to pack written by Lisa on Chip & Co. Paper towel rolls!!

What are you reading this week?? Let us know in the comments!
