Weekly Round Up: February 19

Mouse on the Mind Feb 2012 Meet UpHappy Tuesday, everyone! I hope you’re having a great week and are looking forward to the weekend. I know I am … because we’re having a GIANT DISNEY NERD PARTY this Saturday night.

If you’re in the New York City area, I really hope you’ll join myself, Estelle and James from This Happy Place Blog and Adam and Andrew from the Disney Hipster Blog at the Cornerstone Lounge in Brooklyn’s Fort Greene neighborhood from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

We’ll have specialty Disney drinks, great Park soundtrack and Disney trivia, as well as a whole host of Disney fans from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Maryland. If you want to attend but haven’t RSVP’d, head over here to let us know you’re coming. (We just want to make sure we have treats for everyone!)

And if you’ll be in Disney World this weekend, I hope you’ll consider joining a meetup with Sarah from Running at Disney–it won’t be New York Awesome, but it’ll be lots of fun!

Over the Rainbow and to Worlds Beyond
Over on Electronic Products, I wrote about a robot that makes 3D printing filament and a television made entirely of discarded remote controls.

Special thanks to Running at Disney, Main Street Gazette, The Affordable Mouse, Disney on Wheels and This Happy Place Blog  for including us in their weekend “best of” posts.

One Little Spark of Inspiration
Katherine from Food. Fitness. Fantasy. was inspired by our game of Kill – Refurb – Marry to write about Carousel of Progress.

Todd researched the wonder and history of DuckTales for AV Club.

Melissa from Disney on Wheels wrote about Carl and Ellie–LOVE!–for This Happy Place Blog‘s series on couples.

AJ shared an awesome vintage WDW candy wrapper collection on Disney Food Blog.

Lesley from xoJane celebrated her “universary” in Disney World … and got a bit of shit for it.

FoxFurr shared a tribute to Captain EO on Passport to Dreams.

RG-6 revealed an awesome attraction in Disneyland for Mickey Mutineers. I didn’t even know this existed!!
