It had already been a long, long day by the time we bellied up to the bar at the Crew’s Cup Lounge in Disney’s Yacht Club resort. We’d visited Animal Kingdom, gone swimming and pounded the pavement at Disney’s Hollywood Studios … and we maybe had a few drinks at the Tune-In Lounge.
We wanted some food. Good food. And fast. So we ordered the Buttermilk Fried Rock Shrimp appetizer, which set us back $10.99. No small sum. But it was hot and fast, and the little bites of seafood came served alongside two dipping sauces as well as some cucumber salad.
The chipotle remoulade was nice and spicy, a good compliment to the crispy shrimp, which had its own layer of spice. A citrusy cream sauce mellowed the heat and added a nice cool flavor to the dish. The salty/savory combination was perfection, and our bellies were soon full with a fortifying layer of warm, deep fried goodness.
Three cheers for the staff at the Crew’s Cup! Even though the bar was slammed, the shrimp weren’t soggy and our snack came out promptly. We’ll visit again.
