On the first day of my September 2012 trip to Disney World, as soon as I dropped off my bags at the resort, I headed to Epcot to snag a Fast Pass for Soarin and grab a bite to eat at Sunshine Seasons. On today’s agenda: the Roasted Pork Banh Mi.
I love Sunshine Seasons. It’s such a fun, eclectic and delicious spot for any meal. And the food is normally totally delish. But this sandwich was what I would call “just good.” I’ve read a couple of reviews that said the sandwich was soggy, but we must have gotten a fairly fresh one because it wasn’t soggy at all–just crispy and crunchy. In fact, I’d go so far as to say it was a little dry.
Though I typically love Vietnamese food, I didn’t love this. The flavors were discordant, and I wouldn’t order it again. BUT! BUT! The noodles were a cold sesame-style noodle, which is one of my favorite things in the world. Big thumbs up for the delicious side dish.
So not a total win, but still a pretty satisfying lunch. It kept me going until dinner at Olivia’s. Which is another story for another day …
