Quick Bite: Sweet Potato Nuggets

Golden Oak Sweet Potato Tots (At Disney Again)I’ve never been to Golden Oak Outpost. It’s, like, never open when I’m in Disney World. Mostly because I refuse to visit the Parks between June and September. Because the heat index is too damn high.

Dan from At Disney Again has no such personal precepts, so he was in the Parks a couple of weeks ago when Golden Oak Outpost threw open its window for business. Unfortunately, he had recently enjoyed lunch with his family, and he wasn’t hungry. Fortunately, he was touring with Bret, who is always hungry for Park food. So they ordered.

The cart’s current menu features several kinds of specialty waffle fries as well as sweet potato nuggets and chocolate chip cookies. Yum. The guys went for the $3, day-glow orange tots. Which, as you can see, are covered in powdered sugar. Which seems super weird to me, personally, but Dan says it’s because I’m not from the south.

The expert review: “They’re the best thing to hit this fry cart since it had McDonald’s fries,” said Bret.

Dan‘s thoughts: “They were delicious. The only drawback is that the CMs weigh them out so you get a hilariously sad 2/3-filled container.”

So there you have it. If you happen to be in Frontierland and if Golden Oak Outpost happens to be open, you’d be well advised to pick up the Sweet Potato Nuggets. If you do, let me know what you think!
