It’s fall. And that means it’s time for all things pumpkin spiced and flavored and colored. Pumpkin! PUMPKIN!
Disney World is no exception. So I wasn’t surprised when L’Artisan des Glaces in EPCOT’s France Pavilion introduced a Pumpkin Spice Macaroon Sandwich. But I was intrigued. So I ordered it.
The ice cream has a nice mellowly sweet pumpkin flavor, and it’s not too spicy. The macaroon had that perfect texture of slightly crunchy and slightly chewy that you only get from really nice macaroons. Together, they make for a delicious snack.
And I use the word snack purposefully because I was really surprised by how small the sandwich is. But it turned out not to be a problem: I split it with Dan from At Disney Again, and we both felt like we got enough.
I probably wouldn’t order it again–between France and Italy, there are so many cool and creamy ice cream delights along the World Showcase Promenade that it almost seems like a shame to repeat any but the absolute best.
How do you feel about pumpkin spice ice cream–would you prefer it by the scoop or nestled between some sweet, sweet cookie action? Let us know.
