Birds, Bees & Outdoor Kitchens

The Epcot Flower & Garden Festival has been going on for a month now. How’d I miss that!? So it’s well past time for me to make an imaginary meal around the World, don’t you think.

Dan and I do actually plan to spend an evening in EPCOT before the festival is over, so we sat down together to go through the list, and we were surprised by this year’s offerings. Maybe it’s just us but it seems like the menu items feature a lot of repeats and aren’t particularly inspired or exciting.

But we’re fat kids, so we do plan to make a couple of stops this year …

At the new Cider House booth, we’re keen to eat the Potato and Cheddar Cheese Biscuit with Smoked Salmon Tartare and the Lemon Scone with Crème Fraîche and Mixed Berries again. (They were both offered at the Buttercup Cottage booth in 2014.)  And Dan, of course, wants to try the Beer & Cider Flight.

German food, anyone? Dan’s all about the Currywurst with Paprika Chips from the returning Bauernmarkt booth. Since he’ll be in line, I’m going to make him buy me an elderflower brut.

The stuff at the Taste of Marrakesh booth is the same old, same old, but Dan’s a sucker for the Falafel Pocket.

At Fleur de Lys, we’re excited to try the Onion Tart as well as the Duck Confit. The new ice pops are super cute but not our style.
