As I stood at the corner of Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards, looking up at the sky, I felt exhilarated and slightly awestruck. Like a kid.
Actually, just like a kid.
Looking up at the Star Wars-themed fireworks exploding over Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, I was suddenly six-years-old, watching in with joy as I saw Magic Kingdom’s fireworks boom over Cinderella Castle for the first time.
Not only was the show transportative, it was also a beautiful piece of storytelling. Like, literally. A new Star Wars fan (having seen all seven movies for the first time over the past eight months), I am pretty familiar with the story, and Symphony in the Stars brilliantly told that story through music and colorful explosions.
I know this show is old news at this point, but next month, I am going to see the new and improved version of this show, Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular, and I’m so very excited. The new version of the show combines the fireworks and sound of the original with new pyrotechnics and video projections.
I’m prepared to be awestruck again!
