During a recent trip to Disney World, I became a little obsessed with pins. I didn’t buy a single one, but my eye was attracted to them … so I photographed them. And now you get to see them!
I love these because they’re just a little different from what I expect … the first has really cool depth and interesting shapes, even though it’s clearly Cindy’s Castle. The second is interactive–you can flip open the ticket booklet to reveal the A B C D and E tickets that made up the original Magic Kingdom entry. The final pin is a fairly standard representation of Cindy’s Castle, but I love the cloud shape and blue sparkles.
The classic Imagineering Mickey is great, but my favorite here is the middle: Spaceship Earth wearing Mickey Ears! On the far right, there’s a World Showcase-themed pin! Love! I just realized I didn’t take any photos of Figment pins … which is so out of character for me!
Fort Wilderness may not be a theme park, but I was so charmed by this adorable Mickey going on a purposeful hike. It’s that similar industrious and adventurous attitude that drew me to the Animal Kingdom pin pictured. Adventure is out there! Finally, a Hollywood Studios pin, featuring everyone’s least favorite Park icon. I kind of dig it’s inoffensive weirdness.
