Welcome to the first stop aboard Magical Blogorail Green. Enjoy the ride as we share with you our Best Character Interaction Ever.

I was lucky enough to pick this month’s loop topic, and fresh off a recent visit to Disney World, I knew there was one thing I really wanted to talk about: character interactions!!

This past weekend, I met several of my favorite Disney faces, but my best character interaction isn’t from this most recent visit to WDW. In fact, it happened during my honeymoon in December 2010 with Buzz and Woody in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Meeting with Buzz and Woody

A truly great meet in Hollywood Studios

It didn’t start great. I don’t know if you’ve ever gone through that meet queue on Pixar Place, but it is deceptively long. There are a few switchbacks and lots of “photo spots” spread throughout the line. Unfortunately, people push their way in, so there’s not enough room for anyone to actually take photos, and other people’s kids are going in and out of each other’s photos. It was a mad house the day we visited.

And as the wait stretched on … 15 … 30 … 45 minutes, I started to get monstrously cranky. People were jammed in all around me. Kids were screaming. It was really, really hot. We contemplated jumping out of line and giving up. But we persevered.

And when we finally got to the front of the line, the interaction with Buzz and Woody totally made up for the nightmare wait. They were fresh off of a break and extremely peppy. Either they noticed our “Just Married” buttons or the handler tipped them off, because they immediately went into an adorable skit.

When we walked up to them, Woody hugged me for a looooong time.

After he let me go, Buzz walked over and pointed out my shiny new wedding ring. They gestured back and forth a bit … and then Woody walked over to Rob and actually stared him down!

And Rob blushed!

It was easily the funniest interaction we’ve ever had in a Disney Park. It’s a fabulous memory of our first trip as husband and wife. (And if things don’t work out with Rob, I suppose I can always go back and get Woody’s number, right?)

I love those special interactions with the characters! We’ve had a lot of them over the years! In fact, I recently posted about a few.

What great memories! Glad they made it for the terrible wait. :)

One trip, I had 3 great experiences with characters. The first evening we headed to MK, but didn’t take the camera. It was just a short evening jaunt. Sure enough Mary Poppins was riding the carousel! Later in the trip we were lucky enough to be riding the tea cups the same time as Alice and Mad Hatter. Finally, we were at Epcot to meet Alice at UK and this branch broke off and fell. Everyone was a bit startled. In perfect character, Alice says to me, “Did you see that! It was that Cheshire Cat!” AiW is my favorite Disney movie, so that was the best moment ever :)

  4. That’s awesome! I love when you get a great interaction like that!!

The Best Character interaction for me was with my daughter at Epcot. We were sitting outside the Duffy store and I just bought my daughter a Duffy in the Woody outfit. Duffy came out of his area and saw my daughter knelt down and played with her for about 4 minutes He was Holding a Duffy Buzz so they interacted. . Then we had to get in line for meet and Greet, It was a short wait. Duffy remembered her they played again and ever si ce I am a Fan of Duffy and Love him in the parks!
