Kill Refurb Marry: Disney Resort Pools

Kill Refurb Marry Blog HopYou are probably familiar with the popular parlor game, Kill Boff Marry, where given the choice between three people, you must decide which you’d murder, sleep with and spend the rest of your life with.

Well, Estelle from This Happy Place Blog and I transformed the  game into a WDW-themed version called Kill Refurb Marry. Then we added a little Blog Hop action so everyone can play along! You can check out their links on this month’s the Kill Refurb Marry homepage.

This month, we’re sounding off on Disney Resort Pools. So grab your swimsuit and jump on it–the water’s fine!.

Kill: Samawati Springs Pool, Kidani Village

I’ve never actually been to this pool. And I probably never will. They could throw a gallon of dynamite in there for all that it’s going to impact me. It might be the best pool ever. But after I’ve walked 27 miles from the front desk to my room, there’s no way I am going to walk another 27 to the pool. Nope. Might as well get rid of it.

Refurb: Luna Park Pool, Boardwalk Inn

Luna-Park-Pool-at-Disneys-BoardWalk-In-and-Villas-from-yourfirstvisit.net_I love this resort and I love this pool … But damn! Both of them are pretty sad and rundown. Let’s get some new paint, new umbrellas, new chairs–really redo the whole area. Retheme the entire pool to Storybook Circus, with banners for the Great Goofini, The Astounding Donaldo and Lambert the Lion. Add more and bigger touches of circus life. And get rid of that scary ass clown. Done.

Marry: Lost City Pool, Coronado Springs

You’re probably going to pick StormAlong Bay, but whatever. That area is too crazy, crowded and cramped for me. I don’t like having to show a bracelet to get in and out. I don’t like how it feels. But at Coronado, things are better. They’re calmer, for certain. And there’s a giant Mayan pyramid, which provides lots of cool shade for the area and has the added benefit of being totally awesome and cool. Plus, the way the pool is shaped creates several mini-pools, so you don’t feel like you’re swimming with 100 fellow tourists. It feels a little more quiet and low key. And historically cool.
