You are probably familiar with the popular parlor game, Kill – Boff – Marry, where given the choice between three people, you must decide which you’d murder, sleep with or spend the rest of your life with.
Estelle from This Happy Place Blog and I decided to transform the popular game into a WDW-themed version called Kill Refurb Marry. Our little game grew in popularity, and we decided to add a little Blog Hop action to the game so we can all link up!
This is the fourth Kill Refurb Marry Blog Hop! I am so excited, and I hope lots of Disney bloggers will join in the fun. You can check out their links on the Kill Refurb Marry homepage.
This month, we’re ranking Aerial Spinner Rides. Any rides that spin in a circle! No, they’re not kiddie rides! They’re AWESOME! Let’s go for a spin …
Kill: Magic Carpets of Aladdin
Here’s the thing: I don’t really think there’s anything bad about a spinner ride. They’re all super fun. But could this particular spinner BE in a worse place? The answer, I think, is no. What used to be a lovely, open area is now a clogged mess. Kill it!
Refurb: Dumbo the Flying Elephant
You’re probably thinking: It’s a classic. And it’s just been refurbed … what is this crazy lady talking about? But, here’s the thing … while the attraction needed a refurb, it didn’t need to be uprooted! It didn’t need twice as many cars. And it REALLY didn’t need the fancy queue playground. What once was a ride with a reasonably-sized footprint and an overly long line is now a grotesquely over-sized footprint and absolutely no line at all. I know we have the benefit of space in Orlando, but really! And while I like the new water feature, I really, really miss the cool old flag banners. Blergh.
Marry: Astro Orbiter
This is, by far, the best of all the spinner rides. Because it’s HIGHER. You have to take an elevator to get to it, which makes it feel really special (and like you’re going on three rides for the price of one). It feels like it’s going faster than all of the other spinners, even though it’s probably not. It’s got an awesome theme (who doesn’t want to pilot a rocket ship?!), and it is at the top of the coolest-named building in all of Disney World: Rocket Tower Plaza. #Winning
