Welcome to those of you joining me from Walt Disney World: Not Just for Kids and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the second stop on our Magical Blogorail.

This month’s theme is Our First Trip to WDW. But, of course, my first trip was when I was a wee lass and … well, I really don’t remember very much of it at all. So I decided to write about my first visit as a DVC member in October 2011.

Though we bought our points at Bay Lake Tower, our first DVC stay was at the Boardwalk Resort. It was Food and Wine time, we were celebrating our first anniversary as a married couple, and we’d always wanted to stay on Crescent Lake … so we did!

Of course, it’s always delightfully exciting to hear a Cast Member welcome you home to your happy place, but the best part of being DVC is the awesome accommodations.

We ended up with a room overlooking the Village Green area, and we could see Crescent Lake, Spaceship Earth, parts of the Boardwalk AND Stormalong Bay.We sat on our balcony in the warm breeze that first day, listening to kids playing football and the boats crossing the lake. It was awesome–an absolutely great introduction to DVC-living.

The trip was one of our most special together as a couple: we attended Party for the Senses, ate ourselves silly, held hands during Fantasmic and spent several relaxing hours exploring Fort Wilderness. It was such a nice, relaxing trip.

We need to plan another trip like that soon …
