Today is Star Wars Day. Everyone’s very excited. Folks are dressing up like their favorite Droid, filling up movie theatres and installing Chrome Extensions to prevent spoilers from sneaking through. My truth is, I’ve never seen a single Star Wars movie.
I know, right?
But that doesn’t mean I’m pop culturally slow or anything. I appreciate the Star Warsian excitement just as much as the next person. And I was absolutely bowled over by the awesomeness of Watto’s Grotto at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. So I asked Dan to help me in describing some of the awesome things we saw …
We were very into the accessories, which were sprinkled throughout the store. There was something for everyone: hardcore fans, casual fans … and even me! There were definitely a couple of pieces I would have wanted to take home.
A few things stood out from the crowd: A couple of Boba Fett accessories that have such a cool, low-key style that I almost bought them. And these epic and amazing Lightsaber Laceup Heels, which light up and play sounds as you walk. Amazing.
As we went through the incredibly creative clothing designs (mostly from Her Universe), I definitely found myself wishing that (a) I was into Star Wars enough to justify a purchase and (b) that I have enough money to justify a purchase. Because damn: some of these dresses are cute!
And I pulled out a few I really favor … in case anyone’s got a hundo they want to drop on my Christmas gift.
And, of course, it wouldn’t be Disney World without some things for the kids … or, you know, the kid-at-heart adults with overflowing wallets. Some of the toys were really neat …
From this, I learned my nightmares are coming true (Furbacca!!) and Happabores are adorably squishy alien pigs that I want to love all over. Fun!
