Fashion Friday: Steppin Out Disney

I totally don’t know anything about fashion. But I do know that, as I’ve been searching the Internet and flipping through newsstand mags this past week, I’ve been seeing a lot of Disney Princesses.

Okay, not really. But a lot of the dresses from last week’s Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala (theย hostย of the Jay Z / Solange elevator meltdown) reminded me of my favorite femmes from the cartoon pantheon.

Fun!

Elsa from Frozen

Blake Lively as Elsa - 2014 MET Gala (Mouse on the Mind)
Blake Lively is as icy cool and lovely as the Snow Queen
Amber Heard and Elizabeth Olsen as Elsa - 2014 MET Gala (Mouse on the Mind)
The cold never bothered Amber Heard and Elizabeth Olsen anyway

Tiana from The Princess and the Frog

Lupita Nyongo as Flapper Tiana - 2014 MET Gala (Mouse on the Mind)
Lupita Nyongo reminds me of this lovely artist’s rendering of Tiana as a flapper

Pocahontas

Joy Bryant as Pocahontas - 2014 MET Gala (Mouse on the Mind)
Joy Bryant paints with all the colors of the wind

Belle from Beauty and the Beast

Katie Holmes as Belle - 2014 MET Gala (Mouse on the Mind)
She’s wearing Belle’s dress, but her hair is a beast!

Aurora from Sleeping Beauty

hayden panettiere as aurora - 2014 MET Gala (Mouse on the Mind)
Pink! Blue! Hayden Panettiere can’t make up her mind, either
karen elson as aurora - 2014 MET Gala (Mouse on the Mind)
Karen Elson rocks pink like a princess

Cinderella

Emma Stone as Cinderella - 2014 MET Gala (Mouse on the Mind)
Emma Stone looks amazing
Sandra Lee and Karolina Kurkova as Cinderella - 2014 MET Gala (Mouse on the Mind)
Sandra Lee and Karolina Kurkova are Dueling Cinders

Snow White

Brie Larson as Snow White - 2014 MET Gala (Mouse on the Mind)
Yikes! Brie Larson was channeling Snow White in the worst way
