Fashion Week and Emmy season sort of got away from me this fall–the weather’s just been too nice to sit around and look at dresses, no matter how lovely they are. But now that we’re experiencing some real-time fall weather … well, now let’s take a look at this year’s Emmy dresses inspired by Disney characters, shall we?
Emmy Rossum as Maleficent
In my head, Male is sexy and in charge … and Emmy’s look is definitely dark, sexy and in charge. The sharp edges of the triangle cutouts really remind me of Maleficent’s horns, too.
January Jones as Ariel
Tell me you don’t hear Under the Sea when you see this jumper?
Jessica Pare as Briar Rose (aka Sleeping Beauty)
I especially love the rose detail–It’s a perfect nod to the little princess’ pseudonym.
Julianne Hough as Yzma
If she were real, you know this skinny minnie villainess would be wearing the skimpiest dress at the Emmys … and look just as good as Julianne doing it.
Kiernan Shipka as Belle
Casual, street Belle for teens. It’s cute!
Lady Gaga as Ursula
This one is less a look-alike and more of a feeling. And this not the first time I’ve compared Gaga to the evil sea witch … I’m not sure what any of this means. But I am sure I wouldn’t want to run into either of them in a deserted alley.
Nicey Nash as Winter Belle
From the second I saw this dress, all I could think about was Nicey Nash swaggering around a ballroom with the Beast. C’mon. That’s hilarious.
Teyonah Parris as Cruella De Ville
At first you think Tey-oh-nah is a demon … but after time has worn away the shock … you’ve come to realize, you’ve seen that dress design, watching you from underneath a mop [of black and white hair, I mean …]
