Welcome to those of you joining me from Disney Living and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the fourth stop on our Magical Blogorail.
Today I get to write about my favorite Disney World place to shop which, without a doubt, EPCOT!
I’ve mentioned it before, but in case you missed the memo, I don’t buy a ton of Disney souvenirs, but I do have one purchasing tradition: every trip, I hit MouseGear. I wander through the store, see everything there is to see and usually buy one memento from the trip (usually a tee-shirt).
Why is it my favorite stop? Because for my money, it’s the best spot for in-Park shopping. They have a wide variety of items and it’s never terribly packed (unlike the Magic Kingdom shops). Plus they have almost all of the best Epcot merch, which is my favorite thing to buy.
If you’re looking for an awesome Epcot item and you can’t find it in MouseGear, head over to Gateway Gifts underneath Spaceship Earth. It’s a tiny shop, but it’s almost never populated. It’s a great place to chat with Cast Members and score some neat tee-shirts.
But of course, Epcot is more than Future World Shopping, and I could spend hours writing about each of the World Showcase Pavilions. There’s Mexico, with its charming tchotchkes and giant hats; Norway, with it’s overpriced Helly Hansen clothing and viking hats; and Morocco with its beautiful tea light holders and fez hats. (What? I really like hats!)
There’s something wonderful to be found in each of the Pavilions … and that’s before we even discuss the abundance of delicious food available for purchase … but I guess that’s a different post for a different day.
Thank you for joining me today. Your next stop on the Magical Blogorail Loop is Walt Disney World: It’s Not Just For Kids.
