Musical Monday: A cafellas

I have finally found it: the holy grail of Musical Monday clips!!

I don’t want to get your hopes up too high, but I think it’s impossible to overstate how wonderful this video is. Well, to be really accurate, it’s three videos. Three different performances. Of the same mythical beast. So just watch it (or, if you have time, them; they are different enough to enjoy all three):

These guys are known as The Doo Wop Shop, and they’re U Mass Amherst’s all-male a cappella group. The first video is from a 2010 performance, while the second is the same medley performed by the 2011 version of The Doo Wop Shop. The third is their 2012 performance, which, let’s be honest, it a little sloppier than the other two, but the crowd still loves it.

Now, you can ask Rob (who sang in one the first four years of our relationship): I typically HATE all male a cappella groups. It almost never ever sounds good. But these guys are really, really good singers. And then when you add their obvious humor, amazing dance moves and passion for Disney … heaven! The Kiss the Girl section is particularly funny, and you can pretty much hear panties hitting the floor every. single. time. Ron Vorce goes in for “Part of Your World.”

In case you lost track, the medley contains songs from The Lion King, Hercules, The Jungle Book, Tarzan, Mulan, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid. So, pretty much all the awesomest Disney music. Yea.

I’ve watched it at least five times, and I’ll probably watch it five more before today is over. Because I love it that much.

What do you think? Let us know!
